Overview of Simcenter E-machine Design

Motor and generator designers can use this software for quick virtual prototyping.

The ultimate aim of Sim Center E-Machine Design is to merge the functionality from both Sim Center SPEED and Simcenter Motorsolve into one software program. Most Simcenter SPEED functionality is not currently in Simcenter E-Machine Design so new maintenance releases of Simcenter SPEED with bug fixes will continue to be released as necessary in the meantime.

Simcenter E-machine Design simulates machine performance using equivalent circuit calculations and our unique automated finite element analysis engine.

The template-based interface is easy to use and flexible enough to handle practically any motor topology. Custom rotors and stators can be imported via DXF.
Simcenter E-machine Design importer allows to import models of Brushed and Axial motors from SPEED to E-machine, i.e. convert .xbdc and .xaxm files to .moto.

Main advantages are:
1) Parallelization that drastically speeds up FEM building of complex models, Efficiency Map and PWM analysis calculation, Force, harmonics, import of .unv files, etc.

2) All Motorsolve modules included (Induction Machine, Synchronous Machine, Switched Reluctance Machine, Commutator Machine) + Axial Flux Synchronous Machine module from SPEED. In future releases, FEM analyses of AXM 3D will be added as well as the rest of analytics from SPEED.

3) An opportunity to work in multiple sessions at the same time solving problems in parallel.

4) There is an E-machine SPEED importer for some modules that allows importing SPEED model into .moto files and work with them in E-machine, but SPEED analytical solvers are not incorporated so far.
