SimCenter 3D for Motion and Multi-Body simulations
Simcenter 3D Motion Modeling
Simcenter 3D Motion Modeling is a core add-on for preparing and postprocessing multibody models that contain rigid and flexible bodies. By converting complex CAD geometries into functional motion models, Simcenter 3D Motion Modeling reduces solution time for kinematic, static, and dynamic motion analysis. In addition, this add-on opens the gate for multi-disciplinary data exchange on Simcenter 3D Engineering Desktop and provides an interface to Simcenter Amesim for co-simulation of mechanisms together with electronics, hydraulics, and control components.
Pre-requisites: Simcenter 3D Engineering Desktop. Simcenter 3D Motion Solver is required for Motion analysis.
Simcenter 3D Motion Solver is a suite of robust and time proved motion solvers for kinematic, static, quasi-static, and dynamic (time and step) analysis. Using Numerical Multibody Simulation (MBS) solving techniques, it provides a wide range of results for different motion set-ups: displacements, velocities, accelerations, reaction forces, reaction forces, flexible body results, interference, loads for multidisciplinary FE modeling, and more.
The following multi-body dynamics solvers include an advanced Simcenter 3D Motion Solver, NX Motion Solver, FunctionBay RecurDyn, and MSC Adams/Solver. Simcenter 3D Motion Solver 4-node allows sharing Simcenter 3D Motion Solver licenses over multiple cores and machines.

Simcenter 3D Motion Drivetrain

Simcenter 3D Motion Drivetrain bundle provides special tools for automatized creation and preprocessing of transmissions as multibody components which is called Simcenter 3D Transmission Builder. Based on industry standards and templates, the Transmission Builder helps to build even complex gearbox geometry for multibody motion simulation quite rapidly. It can manage single, multi-stage spur and helical assemblies for external or internal gears.
Another dedicated tool inside the bundle is The Discrete Drivetrain which can replicate a user-created mechanical segment along the path to assemble them into layout components: chains, belts and tracks. Advanced motion solvers can evaluate transient dynamic results such as displacement, velocity, acceleration, and loads on all bodies and layout components.
Due to direct connection to Simcenter 3D Acoustics, NVH analyses of transmissions and other mechanical components can be performed.
Simcenter 3D Motion Flexible Body
Simcenter 3D Motion Flexible Body extends the rigid body dynamics of Simcenter 3D Motion to include flexible bodies and consider deformations on mechanical system components during motion. Thus, any rigid body or link in the model can be replaced by flexible body evaluated from by FE methods provided by Simcenter 3D Engineering Desktop and Simcenter Nastran, so the motion results (forces, stress, displacement, etc) are computed for flexible components.
Using flexible bodies in Motion context allows users to evaluate structural behavior of mechanism and its connections more accurately. Flexible body properties such as mass, moments of inertia, and modal damping can be additionally edited.
Pre-requisites: Simcenter 3D Engineering Desktop AND Simcenter 3D Motion Modeling
Simcenter 3D Motion Flexible Body Advanced adds the Automatic Flex tool for guided automatic process of making flexible body for Motion simulation. It also allows you to model constraints and contact forces applied to flexible bodies, as well as point on flexible curve joints.
